Photographer Alfie White is interested in uncovering and working to subvert the destruction caused by the misrepresentation of minorities through media narratives that perpetuate dehumanising stereotypes. White explains ‘We live in an age where the average person is more aware of the issues in their country or city than ever before, yet due to the way media is delivered and consumed, they rarely develop anything more than a detached awareness.’ Printing his striking black and white photographs in a makeshift darkroom in his bedroom, White confronts fabricated narratives by depicting normal people on the streets, playing sports, and in nightclubs.
