Description
Human-crafted. AI-refined.

The artwork features a stark, monochromatic composition with a striking contrast between the dark, textured background and the delicate, intricate pattern that runs vertically across the center of the image. The pattern resembles a series of intertwined leaves or vines, rendered in a precise, almost architectural style that suggests a sense of order and structure. The overall effect is one of minimalist elegance, inviting the viewer to contemplate the interplay of light, shadow, and the elegance of natural forms. The artist's intention may be to explore themes of balance, nature, and the power of simplicity in artistic expression. ...

Artist
Binta Diaw
B.1995, Italian/Senegalese

Often deployed in the form of installations of varying dimensions, Binta Diaw's plastic research is part of a philosophical reflection on the social phenomena that define our contemporary world, such as migration, the notion of belonging and the question of gender. Earth, chalk, rope but also synthetic hair or rolled flags are some of the materials that form the artist's plastic language. In her works, Binta Diaw places great emphasis on the physical and sensory experience, forcing the viewer to recognise his or her place in the world and the place of his or her experience in front of the work. The artist constantly challenges the dominance of a Eurocentric perspective. Nourishing her quest with the contributions of intersectionality and feminism, Binta Diaw takes us on an exploration of the multiple layers of identity; hers as a black woman in a Europeanized world; ours and that of a continent at the crossroads of history and geographies. ...

The artists represented by the gallery are distinguished by their cultural identities and stories, they create a new language that crosses geographical boundaries and familiarities. They are observers of the world they live in, critics of society, and committed to their positions living within complex histories. In turn, they ask us to reconsider our own relation to the world. ...
