1997, COFrancisco G. Pinzón Samper describes themselves as an image DJ who samples the world around them in order to draw inspiration and create. They explore the notion of spectrum, which refers to the set of characters into which an actor manages to slip in and out from. In the same way, they incorporate and archive a large number of images, linking and reinterpreting them in order to make them their own via meticulously drawn works on paper, cardboard or wood. Their subjects; friends, lovers, collaborators, become actors set amongst backgrounds that are transformed into cinema sets laden with numerous cross-cultural signifiers. Their creations reveal fragments of intimacy: portraits of those most close to them and the fruit of their personal contemplations. The psychedelic results are an acid wash of representation, poetics, cultural references and indistinct times. Samper's work born from a play between the spiritual and the superficial - by juxtaposing aesthetics of belief, religions, pseudo-religions, suggestions of medicine or health studies with images or objects that deal with the ornamentality of fashion and advertising. At first these concepts appear as extreme sides of the spectrum, both infrared and ultraviolet, they function as contradictory.
