François Malingrëy was born in 1989 in Nancy. The son of an illustrator, he graduated from the School of Decorative Arts in Strasbourg in 2013. He has developed a figurative technique that he uses to depict a world that remains strange despite its realism and follows its own rules: recurrently, his works are populated by anonymous, often naked characters, evolving in unidentified settings, entirely engrossed in the banality of a life where little happens.
