Description
Human-crafted. AI-refined.

This nighttime scene depicts a dramatic street-side explosion, with intense flames engulfing a vehicle on the road. The fiery blaze illuminates the surrounding brick buildings and vegetation, creating an intense and foreboding atmosphere. The artwork conveys a sense of chaos and destruction through its bold use of vibrant oranges and reds against the dark backdrop. While the specific subject matter is unclear, the artist's focus on capturing the raw power and unpredictability of this sudden event suggests themes of danger, volatility, and the impermanence of the physical world. ...

LAUGH TRACK, OR WHO’S THAT PEEKING IN MY WINDOW
Artist
Sable Elyse Smith
B.1986, American

Sable Elyse Smith’s interdisciplinary practice spans photography, painting, video, text, neon and sculpture. Often using language to highlight its performative aspect, the artist blends that which is political, public and personal to reveal institutional violence in the contexts of the carceral and court systems, correction facilities and racial injustices. Smith combines the imagery of mass incarceration with unexpected metaphors, such as an intimate touch of a lover, children’s colouring books or playgrounds. The contrast produced is at once uncanny and familiar: while not physically spoken of, the violence that Smith’s work reveals is entrenched, normalised in everyday public consciousness. The gallery has offered many artists their first solo show, many of whom have gone on to receive recognition internationally. ...
