Description
Human-crafted. AI-refined.

This surreal artwork features a striking juxtaposition of forms and textures. The dominant visual element is a large, black vessel with a curved, reflective surface that contrasts sharply with the muted, earthy tones of the background. Faint, ghostly figures are depicted in the background, suggesting an ethereal, dreamlike quality. The composition is balanced and harmonious, with a careful attention to light and shadow. The artist seems to be exploring themes of the human form, materiality, and the subconscious through this thought-provoking and enigmatic piece. ...

Artist
Jacopo Pagin
B.1988, Italian

Working in painting, installation, sound and performance, Jacopo Pagin creates art historically charged enigmas. The artist's paintings depict elongated objects and figures, misty in the soft colours and fluid movement of his composition. Inspired by nature and its psychological ramifications, Pagin blends night and day, reality and representation, illusion and decoration. Evoking traditions of Rococo and Neoclassicism, he continuously places the familiar imagery within unexpected, elegant tropes. The ephemeral colour palette of his paintings is inspired by Fata Morgana, an Italian folklore myth that the sea's horizon at dusk and dawn is the creation of witches. Magic, illusion and murano glass run through Pagin’s works, alluding to the role of painting in the concepts of time, history and perception. Written by Goldsmiths CCA ...
