Favoring oil and tempera on square linen canvases, she intentionally rejects conventional formats such as portrait or landscape, using the square as a neutral space for exploration. Emalin is a London-based contemporary art gallery run by Angelina Volk and Leopold Thun. Prior to opening the permanent gallery space in London’s East End in September 2016, Emalin operated as an itinerant exhibition programme and project space since 2014. The gallery represents nine international artists from five countries working in a range of media, with a focus on emerging multi-disciplinary practices.
