Description
Human-crafted. AI-refined.

This contemporary artwork features a long, vertical rectangular panel in a muted pink hue. The surface is heavily textured, with intricate, ruched patterns creating a dynamic, three-dimensional effect. The overall composition is symmetrical and minimalist, emphasizing the materiality and tactile qualities of the fabric. The artist's intention appears to be exploring the expressive potential of textiles and highlighting the sensual, sculptural nature of drapery and folds. This work exemplifies the artist's distinctive style, which often incorporates soft, pliable materials to create contemplative, abstract pieces that challenge traditional perceptions of form and surface. ...

B.1991, Swiss

Through the artist's material explorations, Manon Wertenbroek examines the definition of a physical form and its limits, as well as what lies beyond the skin as an envelope. In so doing, she explores the duality of skin as an element that is both singular and relational, protective and permeable. Wertenbroek is always looking for materials and ways to cross the line between sentimentality and eroticism, using materials such as latex, leather, metal clasps, lights, and piercings. Her sculptures are often disembodied, suggesting bodies without taking on volume or form. In 2017, Wertenbroek received the Swiss Art Award from the Federal Office of Culture. ...
