Artist
Mar Pérez
B.1983, Argentine

Mar Pérez channels memory, identity, and personal history into layered visual and performative forms, transforming fleeting moments and collective experiences into immersive narratives. In his paintings, he often translates ephemeral experiences into visual stories, using color, texture, and composition to evoke emotional and psychological states. His practice extends into performance, where he directs, scripts, and acts in theatrical productions, integrating visual and performative elements to create multi-sensory experiences. In addition to his visual and performative work, Pérez experiments with sound, using it as another layer of storytelling within his practice. He explores the interplay between mediums, allowing painting, performance, and sound to inform and transform one another. This multidisciplinary approach enables him to investigate the ways memory, cultural identity, and personal narrative shape human perception, creating works that are intimate, reflective, and emotionally resonant. Across all aspects of his practice, Pérez seeks to blur the boundaries between mediums, fostering a dialogue between visual, auditory, and performative forms of expression. ...
