Description
Human-crafted. AI-refined.

Maria Szakats' "Snap Dragon I" features a striking use of deep blue hues and felted textures to form organic shapes resembling plant pods. The work blends abstract composition with recognizable natural imagery, employing textile as a tactile medium to evoke a sense of softness and depth. Szakats’ technique creates an interplay between craft and material, emphasizing texture and color. This piece reflects her exploration of the values attributed to time, material, and craftsmanship, stemming from her transition from fashion to a focus on art. ...

B.1984, Austrian

Born in Romania in 1984, Maria Szakats is an Austrian artist who graduated from the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs and now lives and works in Paris. Working mainly with textiles and using a wide range of techniques, she produces works combining textiles and installation, and attempts to create a tension between craft, image and material. GALERIE CHLOE SALGADO

Inaugurated in October 2018, GALERIE CHLOE SALGADO is a contemporary art gallery in Paris representing emerging international artists. Working hand in hand with the artists, the gallery aims to break with the notion of a gallery as an elitist space proposing instead a place of support, discovery and sharing, while also encouraging new generations of collectors and art enthusiasts.
