Description
Human-crafted. AI-refined.

This artwork features two simple calendar pages displayed side-by-side. The compositions are minimal, using basic shapes and colors to convey the calendar information. The muted beige backgrounds provide a neutral canvas, allowing the bold, geometric numbers and letters in primary colors to take center stage. The calendars appear to be from different years, inviting the viewer to ponder the passage of time. This conceptual work by an unknown artist likely explores themes of routine, record-keeping, and the fleeting nature of days and months. The stripped-down aesthetic and repetitive subject matter create a meditative quality, encouraging reflection on the cyclical nature of time. ...

Much of Marina Pinsky’s work is concerned with representations of the world – both spatial, ideological and material – and how one understands and interprets them. She often uses the technology of photography, and the layering of shots that it allows, to point to the absurdity and great expanses of space and time. Her 2020 exhibition at C L E A R I N G, 'Four Color Theorem', takes its name from a nineteenth century mathematical thesis which stated that a geographical map could use a minimum of four colours – red, yellow, green and blue – to delineate its regions. This idea rationalises and condenses the varied geopolitical complexities of nation states, flattening them to simple, uncomplex visual representations. Written by Goldsmiths CCA ...
