Morgan Wills works directly on his canvases, creating and building composition and subject matter over time. His paintings take on a 'story' through the process of making, with the relationships between figures and objects gaining substance and weight. There is an ambiguous feeling when looking at his work: we are in the middle of a scene, yet it is detached from us.
