Description
Human-crafted. AI-refined.

This contemporary artwork features a juxtaposition of visual elements. The central image depicts a disembodied hand, with a vibrant pink glove, emerging from a crumpled blue-gray fabric. The composition creates a sense of tension and discomfort, inviting the viewer to consider the symbolism and context behind the scene. The artist's use of contrasting colors and textures, combined with the surreal, almost unsettling subject matter, suggests a commentary on themes of vulnerability, control, or the human condition. The overall style and technique employed in this piece reflect a conceptual, minimalist approach that challenges the viewer's perception and interpretation. ...

B.1984, Chilean

Patricia Domínguez is interested in healing practices, ethnobotany and the co-opting and corporatisation of ‘wellness’ and wellbeing, and the points at which, through colonial encounters and cultural collision, these concepts connect or mutate. Through her exploration of ethnobotany in South America – the relationship and interconnectedness between plants and humans, including plants’ modification, use and geographical dispersal – the artist uncovers processes of colonial extraction and capitalism. Domínguez creates disparate assemblages that incorporate talismanic, culturally-specific objects, collected and recycled, with the synthetic detritus of neoliberalism, extractivist and finance; business shirts, electronics, and even the LED screens upon which the artist’s video works are shown. ...
