Description
Human-crafted. AI-refined.

The artwork features a minimal, geometric composition of dark and light green shapes against a plain white background. The prominent element is a larger asymmetrical polygon in a dark olive shade, with several smaller irregular shapes in a lighter mint green scattered within it. The overall visual style is reminiscent of abstract expressionism, with the artist employing a restrained color palette and emphasizing the interplay of negative and positive space. This piece likely explores themes of balance, fragmentation, and the interaction between organic and geometric forms. ...

Artist
Andreas Eriksson
B.1975, Swedish

Oscillating between abstraction and figuration, the understated works of Andreas Eriksson shift between paintings, drawings, prints, photographs, and sculptures. Heavily influenced by his immediate locality, Eriksson lives in a forested bank of Lake Vänern, Sweden, with remnants and markers of this landscape populating his oeuvre. Organic forms such as leaves, stars and mountains reappear, abstracted, collaged, and often fragmented. The works are fragile in tone, laying testament to the intimacy between the artist and this landscape, whilst also speaking to the wider vulnerability of this oasis amidst contemporary planetary conditions. Eriksson cites Edvard Munch and Albert Oehlen as key references, which is readily tangible in the poetic sensibility of his work. ...
