Description
Human-crafted. AI-refined.

This striking black-and-white photograph depicts a surreal, dreamlike scene. The composition features distorted, intertwined figures shrouded in shadows, creating an unsettling and visceral impression. The artist's use of chiaroscuro lighting heightens the sense of mystery and unease, while the gestural, expressive brushwork lends the image a raw, emotive quality. The work seems to explore themes of the subconscious, the fragility of the human form, and the unseen forces that shape our existence. Without identifying any individuals, the artist invites the viewer to engage with the work's powerful, evocative symbolism. ...

Artist
Marie Angeletti
1984 , French

Marie Angeletti uses photography to re-frame discordant yet familiar genres of representation. The French artist collects imagery from art historical sources, Google image searches, and media platforms. She photographs and re-photographs it, thereby continuously re-interpreting the act of making and looking at art. The process of continuous re-framing and repetition in Angeletti’s practice speaks to ways information is being treated in contemporary media platforms, where the notion of authorship is often a contested subject. In the artist’s works the original source of the image becomes blurred and unfocused, giving space of novel, unexpected interpretations. In such a way, Angeletti’s juxtaposed, digitally manipulated, combined and rearranged photography allows for endless possibilities of meaning. ...

Carlos/Ishikawa
London

Founded in 2011, Carlos/Ishikawa’s program is dedicated to considered and ambitious exhibitions that offer diverse artists’ perspectives on structural, socio-cultural, and political questions. The program focuses on international artists with often wide-ranging, multi-disciplinary and experimental practices. There is an interest within the program of challenging the aesthetic conventions of conceptual art, and a focus on art that is able to operate on an affective, emotional level as well as a rigorous intellectual one. The gallery has offered many artists their first solo show, many of whom have gone on to receive recognition internationally. ...
