Description
Human-crafted. AI-refined.

This artwork appears to be a text-based piece that addresses the complex relationship between schiele and sexuality. The composition features a plain white background with black text that discusses the explicit imagery and sensual themes present in some of the artist's works. The text notes that these elements raise questions about the artist's views on women and sexuality, which were influenced by the social norms and art historical context of early 20th century Austria. Despite the controversial nature of the subject matter, the piece invites a thoughtful dialogue about representation and social issues within the contemporary art landscape. ...

Artist
Marie Angeletti
B.1984, French

Marie Angeletti uses photography to re-frame discordant yet familiar genres of representation. The French artist collects imagery from art historical sources, Google image searches, and media platforms. She photographs and re-photographs it, thereby continuously re-interpreting the act of making and looking at art. The process of continuous re-framing and repetition in Angeletti’s practice speaks to ways information is being treated in contemporary media platforms, where the notion of authorship is often a contested subject. In the artist’s works the original source of the image becomes blurred and unfocused, giving space of novel, unexpected interpretations. In such a way, Angeletti’s juxtaposed, digitally manipulated, combined and rearranged photography allows for endless possibilities of meaning. ...
