Description
Human-crafted. AI-refined.

The artwork features a bold, abstract composition with a striking use of colors and shapes. The central element is a prominent red rectangular form that stands out against a serene landscape backdrop of blue and green hues. The surrounding black silhouettes of mountains create a sense of depth and contrast, while the faint markings in the upper portion suggest an ethereal, otherworldly presence. The artist's distinctive style and choice of materials, likely a combination of painting and drawing, lend a tactile, expressive quality to the piece. The artwork's stark yet evocative imagery invites the viewer to ponder its symbolic meaning and the artist's intended message. ...

Sam Windett
B.1977, British

Employing abstracted systems and model-logic to make sense of information, Sam Windett’s paintings construct their own language with their dark, contrasted hues and recurring shapes. Evoking sculptural assemblages, the artist translates the forms, lines and outlines of plants, gaffer tape, wood, ribbons and motorways into painterly versions. Mysterious in their totemic appearance, the works contextualise balance and interconnectedness, both visually and conceptually. Windett’s work is process-based, whereby the paintings are created through the continuous layering, as well as removal, of paint and paper. Collaged and dazzling, Windett’s paintings are temporal experimentations of personal and collective memory, representation and abstraction. Written by Goldsmiths CCA ...
