Description
Human-crafted. AI-refined.

This abstract painting features a dynamic composition with bold colors, shapes, and textures. The canvas is divided into distinct sections, with a large blue lightning-like shape on the left, a patterned central area, and a vibrant yellow field on the right. The artist employed a mix of media, including paint, collage, and gestural markings, creating a visually striking and textured surface. The overall effect is one of energy, movement, and a sense of the unexpected. The piece likely reflects the artist's exploration of the interplay between chance, spontaneity, and intentionality in their artistic practice. ...

Artist
Sam Windett
B.1977, British

Employing abstracted systems and model-logic to make sense of information, Sam Windett’s paintings construct their own language with their dark, contrasted hues and recurring shapes. Evoking sculptural assemblages, the artist translates the forms, lines and outlines of plants, gaffer tape, wood, ribbons and motorways into painterly versions. Mysterious in their totemic appearance, the works contextualise balance and interconnectedness, both visually and conceptually. Windett’s work is process-based, whereby the paintings are created through the continuous layering, as well as removal, of paint and paper. Collaged and dazzling, Windett’s paintings are temporal experimentations of personal and collective memory, representation and abstraction. Written by Goldsmiths CCA ...
