Description
Human-crafted. AI-refined.

The artwork features a captivating abstract composition with a myriad of colors and textures. The canvas is divided into distinct sections, with a predominance of muted grays, blues, and hints of vibrant red and yellow. The overall impression is one of organic forms and dynamic brushstrokes, creating a sense of movement and depth. The artist's technique appears to blend elements of expressionism and color field painting, evoking a contemplative and emotive response. The work invites the viewer to explore its multifaceted layers and ponder the artist's intention, which may be rooted in a personal or philosophical exploration of the human experience. ...

Artist
Sam Windett
B.1977, British

Employing abstracted systems and model-logic to make sense of information, Sam Windett’s paintings construct their own language with their dark, contrasted hues and recurring shapes. Evoking sculptural assemblages, the artist translates the forms, lines and outlines of plants, gaffer tape, wood, ribbons and motorways into painterly versions. Mysterious in their totemic appearance, the works contextualise balance and interconnectedness, both visually and conceptually. Windett’s work is process-based, whereby the paintings are created through the continuous layering, as well as removal, of paint and paper. Collaged and dazzling, Windett’s paintings are temporal experimentations of personal and collective memory, representation and abstraction. Written by Goldsmiths CCA ...
