Description
Human-crafted. AI-refined.

This vibrant abstract painting showcases a dynamic interplay of colors and expressive brush strokes. The dominant green background provides a vivid canvas for the swirling, organic forms in shades of gray, black, and yellow. Wu Jiaru experiments with installation, ready-made, painting and generative digital images. Her works explore issues of identity, boundaries and the individualisation of history from the perspectives of mythology, literature and intimate relationships. More recently, the artist has been using automatic drawing as a practice of 'unlearning', engaging in a daily routine of repetitive actions and spontaneous drawing in an attempt to enter a state of automatisation involving both her body and her mind. This act of automatic drawing is also used as a form of counter-control to the technological control of our time, to reflect on the relationship between human subjectivity and the subjectivity of technological objects. ...
