pigment print on Baryta Hahnemühle, from a silver negative American box frame without glass. Galerie Cécile Fakhoury
Description
Human-crafted. AI-refined.

The artwork depicts an old, weathered fishing boat in a dark setting. The composition emphasizes the sturdy, angular structure of the vessel, with its rusted exterior and worn, peeling paint creating a sense of age and decay. The chiaroscuro lighting casts dramatic shadows, heightening the sense of mystery and atmosphere. The painting conveys a melancholic mood, perhaps reflecting the passage of time or the hardships faced by those who work on the sea. This evocative piece invites the viewer to ponder the life and history of the boat, and the stories it might hold. ...

Yo-Yo Gonthier's art is freely inspired by the exploration in general: quests, discoveries and travels that are as much concrete as they are fantasised. By means of film, drawing, engraving, photography and performance, he invites us to a historical reading of forms and universal matters. Through both actions and symbols, forms lead to the rethinking of the dreaming state here and now, within its repetition or experience in different geographical sites. Yo-Yo Gonthier is a composer of lines, senses and sounds: the materiality of his works results from those. A paper print appears from an engraved object, as if it were photographed or pinned. Reproducibility testifies to a return to the essence of forms. ...
