Pigment print on Baryta Hahnemühle, from a silver negative. American box frame without glass. Galerie Cécile Fakhoury
Description
Human-crafted. AI-refined.

The striking black and white photograph depicts a tangled, intricate nest nestled amidst a cluster of fallen branches and foliage. The composition emphasizes the chaotic interplay of organic forms, with the dense nest structure serving as the central focal point. The artist's use of chiaroscuro creates a moody, atmospheric tone, heightening the sense of fragility and transience within the natural scene. Through this evocative visual language, the artwork suggests themes of decay, impermanence, and the resilience of life in the face of environmental upheaval. The photographer's intention seems to be to invite the viewer to contemplate the delicate balance and resilience found in the natural world. ...

Yo-Yo Gonthier's art is freely inspired by the exploration in general: quests, discoveries and travels that are as much concrete as they are fantasised. By means of film, drawing, engraving, photography and performance, he invites us to a historical reading of forms and universal matters. Through both actions and symbols, forms lead to the rethinking of the dreaming state here and now, within its repetition or experience in different geographical sites. Yo-Yo Gonthier is a composer of lines, senses and sounds: the materiality of his works results from those. A paper print appears from an engraved object, as if it were photographed or pinned. Reproducibility testifies to a return to the essence of forms. ...
