Silver print framed under shadow box. Galerie Cécile Fakhoury
Description
Human-crafted. AI-refined.

This black and white photograph features a minimalist composition of three spherical shapes arranged in a row. The shapes, rendered in high contrast, appear to be smooth and uniform, almost resembling eggs or pearls. The overall aesthetic conveys a sense of simplicity and balance, highlighting the inherent beauty in the natural forms. The artist's use of chiaroscuro lighting creates a striking, abstract quality, drawing the viewer's attention to the interplay of light and shadow. This piece likely reflects the artist's interest in exploring the essential elements of form, texture, and tone, inviting the audience to appreciate the inherent elegance of the subject matter. ...

Yo-Yo Gonthier's art is freely inspired by the exploration in general: quests, discoveries and travels that are as much concrete as they are fantasised. By means of film, drawing, engraving, photography and performance, he invites us to a historical reading of forms and universal matters. Through both actions and symbols, forms lead to the rethinking of the dreaming state here and now, within its repetition or experience in different geographical sites. Yo-Yo Gonthier is a composer of lines, senses and sounds: the materiality of his works results from those. A paper print appears from an engraved object, as if it were photographed or pinned. Reproducibility testifies to a return to the essence of forms. ...
