Description
Human-crafted. AI-refined.

This striking sculptural artwork features a rugged, golden-hued figure emerging from a circular base. The visual elements include a bold, abstract composition with prominent geometric shapes and a rough, textured surface that suggests an ancient, weathered quality. The subject matter depicts a powerful, visceral human form, with distinct anatomical features visible through the abstracted style. The artistic style and technique employ a modernist, expressionistic approach, using a limited color palette and a raw, sculptural medium to convey a sense of primal energy and timeless resilience. This work likely reflects the artist's intention to explore the elemental nature of the human form and its connection to the natural world. ...

Evgeny Antufiev
B.1986, Russian

Evgeny Antufiev (b. 1986 in Kyzyl, Russia) lives and works in Moscow, Russia. Antufiev grew up in the Siberian republic of Tuva, a remote region which maintains active practices of alchemy, oral folklore and shamanism to this day. It serves as a point of departure for the artist’s engagement with real but mythical space – one where bodies of knowledge are able to accumulate and hybridise across time and place. The artist carves wood, boils bones and embroiders traditional fabrics with recurring images that blur the legibility of geography and temporality, collapsing physical and symbolic orders. Part of a generation that grew up negotiating the real and imagined experiences tied to the dissolution of the Soviet Union, Antufiev builds a mythology of fraught ambiguity and cultural anxiety. ...
