Description
Human-crafted. AI-refined.

This contemporary art piece features a striking human figure constructed entirely out of straw. The natural, earthy tones of the straw create a textured, almost ethereal appearance, with the figure's form emerging from the seemingly chaotic arrangement of the material. The overall composition is visually striking, drawing the viewer's attention to the delicate yet powerful presence of the figure. The artist's use of this unconventional material, combined with the abstracted, minimalist representation of the human form, suggests a conceptual exploration of themes such as ephemerality, materiality, and the relationship between man and nature. This thought-provoking artwork invites the viewer to contemplate the fragility and transience of the human experience. ...

Kaspar Müller
B.1983

Kaspar Müller (b. 1983, Schaffhausen) lives and works in Berlin and Zurich. In his practice seemingly familiar objects somehow appear as hieroglyphs. A cast of everyday, yet nonetheless strangely hermetic motifs reappear throughout his oeuvre like vanished memories. Recoded, recalcitrant, and on first glance sometimes stubbornly mute, past works have ranged from physically tangible sculpture to shadowy reproductions of images. Often working in recursive loops, Müller creates elusive installations that stage the fluctuations and transformation of the creative process between the space of the studio and the gallery. For Müller, this process is akin to archeology, yet the things he addresses aren’t hidden; we simply don’t pay attention to them. The moment that their latent qualities suddenly emerge and seem connected and appealing is an exciting moment, which, as Müller notes, is “prone to mystification.” Müller’s works examine the residues of different systems of production and value, honing in on the formal and associative qualities of everyday objects and goods. With his lamp sculptures, Müller engages with how industrial lighting, from its inception to the current day, functions as a means to create a mood or atmosphere through the expression of one’s aesthetic affinities. Müller’s interest in notions of craft and reproduction, and vintage and “fake vintage,” led him to bring together an exuberant yet discordant constellation of bulbs as a kind of mirror of the range of industrial production and contemporary taste. ...

Société
Berlin

Société is a Berlin-based gallery with an international profile—its core operations lay in Europe, the United States, and Asia. The gallery’s exhibitions, publications, and boundary-pushing initiatives have established a vital dialogue among artists working internationally. Société focuses on establishing long-term, symbiotic relationships with its gallery artists, many of whom had their first solo exhibition with the gallery. The structure of the gallery’s program and the format of its projects is an artist-led approach that responds to the ever-evolving conditions of artistic research and production—at times even pushing beyond traditional exhibition formats. Although differing in media and approach, Société’s artists address the relationship between cultural production and consumption, the circulation of information, identity, and cultural history in an era highly mediated by technology. The gallery's publishing initiative Edition Société, has worked with accomplished graphic designers on a number of acclaimed artist's books. The gallery has additionally produced 12" records with several contemporary musicians. Société has exhibited at Art Basel / Art Basel Miami Beach / Art Basel Hong Kong / Frieze London / Frieze New York / Frieze LA / ARCO Madrid / Independent New York / Independent Brussels / Art Cologne / Art Brussels / Enter Art Fair / Gallery Weekend Berlin / and Art Berlin among other locations. ...
