Description
Human-crafted. AI-refined.

This artwork features a striking contrast between the abstract and the representational. The central element is a magnified close-up of an insect's wing, with its intricate patterns of black, white, and warm golden hues creating a captivating visual texture. The wing appears to be in motion, conveying a sense of energy and dynamism. Surrounding the wing are delicate, minimalist plant-like forms, adding a natural, organic feel to the composition. The overall style blends photographic realism with an abstract, almost painterly quality, inviting the viewer to consider the intersection of the natural world and artistic interpretation. ...

Lito Kattou's works are part of a new wave of production that blends various practices, from digital fabrication to thermochemical elaborations, to explore the relationship between materiality and subjectivity. Her practice takes on different forms that include weapons, skins, and cosmic elements, and use flatness to create sculptural depth. Examining processes of embodiment and material transformation, her works track these metamorphic changes within the constraints of space and time. Kattou's practice explores space before and after the body, questioning the body's presence, absence, representation, and abstraction. She views subjectivation as a series of tactics for creating and conditioning the self and others. Through her works, she depicts the subject as a wanderer, transcending identity and categorization, and composed of voices that fluctuate between dialogue and monologue. The structures of space, form, and narrative in her artworks are built around the traces of attack and defense, and the modes of roaming and intimate communication. ...
