Description
Human-crafted. AI-refined.

Paolo Chiasera's painting "Glory hole" features a muted, earthy palette dominated by browns and tans, with soft, fluid brushstrokes that suggest abstracted natural forms. The upper section hints at a forest scene with faint tree-like shapes, while the lower portion contains ambiguous horizontal striations. This abstraction blurs the lines between landscape and texture. Chiasera's style incorporates a subtle exploration of form and space, emphasizing the interplay between natural elements and architectural structure. This work reflects his ongoing interest in the dynamic interaction between history, culture, and human identity within contemporary contexts. ...

POLLAIO VOLANTE
Artist
Paolo Chiasera
B.1978, italian

Paolo Chiasera’s multi-disciplinary work involves installation, video, painting, performance, architecture, curating and writing. These mediums often overlap in Chiasera’s analysis and staging of collective myths, cultural symbols and icons. Through manifold narratives the artist retraces the interactions between history and power, social groups, and the loss of control. For years Chiasera has addressed the complex relationship which connects people to their role models and traditions, as in the Tupac Project in 2005, a monument dedicated to Tupac Amaru Shakur, the Black Panther rapper who died in ‘96 in a Las Vegas. More recently, while the relationship between the body and architecture has remained central, his practice has focused on the medium of painting in its expanded field of appearance and use. ...
