When Rao Fu arrived in Dresden to study fine art, he was first exposed to the works of the masters of the Romantic period, such as Caspar David Friedrich, Ludwig Richter and Johan Christian Dahl, who made a deep impression on him. Rao Fu paints layer by layer, adding very fine colours on top of each other to create an effect of transparency that emphasises a dreamlike atmosphere. Combining several painting techniques and multiple perspectives, his work is a juxtaposition and expression that is a condensed reflection of his perception of the world. ...
