Description
Human-crafted. AI-refined.

This contemporary artwork features a striking monochromatic portrait of an elderly man set against a bold, geometric composition. The central figure is rendered in a dark, expressive style, with thick brushstrokes capturing the weathered features and pensive expression. Sandra Gamarra's practice makes reference to cultural production as a construction in balance. The constant use of painting in Gamarra, always camouflaged or hybrid, acts as a mirror that alters the exhibition formats, narratives and the concept of cultural property. In 2002, she created the LiMac, a museum project, in response to the cultural institutional void in Peru.
