Description
Human-crafted. AI-refined.

This abstract artwork features a dynamic composition of bold, expressive brushstrokes in a range of earthy tones and cool hues. The overall visual impact is a sense of chaotic energy and movement, with no distinct central subject. The artist employs a visceral, gestural painting technique that creates a sense of depth and texture, suggesting a natural or organic subject matter. While the work does not depict any recognizable elements, the artist's intention seems to be evoking a feeling or atmosphere rather than representing a specific scene or object. This abstract expressionist piece reflects the artist's personal exploration of the creative process. ...

Artist
Suyon Huh
B.1993, South Korean

Suyon Huh (b.1993, Seoul, Korea) is an artist who currently lives and works in Seoul, Korea. Her work begins by closely examining the many symbolic relationships between certain objects. Her use of iconographic materials with universal meanings has the viewer question and reach beyond what is presented as the norm. Well-known images such as teddy bears, angels, hearts, crosses, and stars are presented not in the way that is familiar to us; instead filtered through other cultures that have assigned them other contradictory meanings, or at times overthrown the meaning altogether. Stories of people's conflicting perceptions of the same subject matter—such as anecdotes of party-goers mishearing the sound of gunshots as firecrackers and dancing to them—become important allegories when using this symbolism. Suyon majored in Korean Painting at Ewha Woman’s University. Recent solo exhibitions include INSECURE Ms. Kim, Oksang Factory (Seoul, 2022); Houseless, LOG (Seoul, 2022); Follow the Rabbit, FAS (Seoul, 2021); HPIX DOSAN ✕ HUH SUYON, Hpix (dual solo, Seoul, 2020); Retrieve, Recycle, Revive, G Gallery (Seoul, 2019). Recent group exhibitions include Untalely, Tabula Rasa Gallery (Beijing, 2023); K90-99 Transcultural Fusion: K-Art as a convergence of East and West, LUPO (Milan, 2023); To be anything, To be nothing, Post Territory Ujeonguk (Seoul, 2023); BGA INDEX : OPEN STORAGE, BGA (Seoul, 2023); This Title Is Not Available In Your Region, Gasp (New York, 2022); Temporary Landing, TINC (This is Not a Chuch) (Seoul, 2022); Instead of an Afterwards, Korean Cultural Center in Hong Kong (Hong Kong, 2022). In 2022, she was honoured with the Artist Support Program Award provided by the Arts Council Korea (ARKO). Her work has been included in the MMCA Art Bank and a variety of personal collections around the globe. ...
