Description
Human-crafted. AI-refined.

This contemporary artwork features a minimalist, geometric composition of wooden frames and white pedestals. The visual elements highlight the interplay of clean lines, simple shapes, and natural materials. The subject matter consists of various sculptural elements, including a colorful crystal-like form, a dried plant, and an abstract ceramic piece, each placed on its own raised platform. The artistic style and technique exhibit a minimalist aesthetic, emphasizing the arrangement and juxtaposition of the objects rather than their individual characteristics. The context suggests the work explores the relationship between space, form, and the viewer's perception, inviting contemplation on the essence of artistic expression. ...

Artist
Tiago Mestre
B.1978, Portuguese

Drawing on his status as a Portuguese artist living in Brazil, as well as his architecture training, Tiago Mestre creates works that address the notion of displacement, in both abstract and physical senses. While working in sculpture, painting, video and installation, Mestre considers his works to really ‘happen’ when exhibited together. The interaction between the individual pieces, the spaces they occupy, as well as their intervention with pre-existing space of the exhibition, forms the discourse that is at the core of Mestre’s practice. The abstract paintings and sets of sculptures are characterised by quiet considerations of colour and form ruled by an overarching sense of uncertainty. Conceptualised by human and artistic movement between Portugal and Brazil, his works engage with the plurality of anthropological and cultural codes that shape history and identity. The artist’s architectural background drives his interest in the spatial relationship between the human and the natural, with the former continuously assimilating the latter. ...
