Xolo Cuintle

Xolo Cuintle is an artist duo formed in 2020 by Romy Texier (1995, San Francisco) and Valentin Vie Binet (1996, Paris) who live in Paris and work in Aubervilliers. After graduating from Duperré School, the duo did a year-long residency at the Manufacture des Gobelins (2019 - 2020, Paris) as part of a studies programme with Mobilier national. The duo produce artworks that challenge boundaries between sculpture, furniture and décor. With their four hands, the duo create concrete sculptures and transform this solid and inert material into a fertile soil from which flourishes organic inspired ornamentation. Xolo Cuintle’s creations, meticulously assembled and arranged to inhabit each space, play on the objects that make up the topography of our daily life. The duo construct heterotopic spaces, on the threshold between dream and simulacrum. Within these deserted and petrified scenes, a new grammar of form that takes shape which, in layers, form an interpretation of time. ...

DS Galerie is a contemporary art gallery based in Paris. After six years of being a nomad curatorial project (2016–2022), Double Séjour has now become DS Galerie, implemented in Paris and fully metamorphosing into a gallery. The gallery represents and invites French and international artists, mainly from the emerging scene. DS Galerie takes part in international fairs such as Art-O-Rama (Marseille), Paris Photo (FR) and Material (MEX).
