spray paint on vinylCommonwealth and Council
Description
Human-crafted. AI-refined.

The artwork features a window frame with a blurred and distorted abstract image behind it. The dominant colors are shades of pink and black, with splashes of paint creating a dreamlike, almost surreal composition. The overall effect is visually striking, evoking a sense of ambiguity and emotional intensity. The artist seems to have employed unconventional techniques, such as spray painting or sponging, to achieve this striking visual effect. The piece likely aims to challenge the viewer's perception and explore the boundaries between representation and abstraction in contemporary art. ...

Wyman recognises the importance of opacity in a post-truth society marred by state surveillance and hyper-transparency. Not only does camouflage and masking obscure identity, but ‘communal skins’ can act as a binding agent, creating collective identities; ‘when worn, a mask may permit an individual to simultaneously transgress social boundaries while belonging to a group. In this way, identity is expressed yet anonymity is protected.’ Written by Goldsmiths CCA ...
