Description
Human-crafted. AI-refined.

This striking black and white drawing features an abstract organic composition with intricate linework and patterns. The central focus is a heart-shaped form surrounded by swirling, seemingly energetic lines and shapes. The juxtaposition of the bold, expressive gestural lines against the more geometric and structured elements creates a dynamic, visually compelling image. The artist's unique approach to rendering the subject matter suggests an exploration of the subconscious or emotional realms. This work appears to be an expressionistic, symbolic representation that invites the viewer to contemplate themes of the human experience and the complexities of the mind and heart. ...

Marguerite Humeau’s artistic practice is concerned with imagining and ‘prototyping worlds that are invisible or extinct, or parallel to ours. They might exist, but we don’t really know about them.’ The artist’s speculative fictions are formed by uncovering forms and ideas that have been forgotten or lost, that have fallen off the map throughout history. Humeau’s is a practice of seeking to comprehend; ‘[the worlds] are based on mysteries that I am trying to understand. I am extracting real things, and then expanding into “what if?” scenarios.’ Humeau’s process of research and investigation has led her to collaborations with anthropologists, historians, scientists, explorers, linguists, engineers, palaeontologists and zoologists and, in order to hold a broader understanding of knowledge, she has recently learned from the marginal voices of foragers and oral historians. The outcomes of Humeau’s work are mainly presented sculpturally; vast, extra-terrestrial, extratemporal forms rendered in ghostly white with synthetic materials such as polystyrene, latex and silicone. Marguerite HumeauCoeur de Marie, A relationship that you can’t get out of your head, that is still somehow alive, unfinished. It has become a mythical place, an abandoned campsite in your mental landscape. Inspired by the Bleeding Heart, the plant extract traditionally given to the brokenhearted and the codependent, as it is made of two fused flowers, each being half of a heart, 2022Price on Request
