Description
Human-crafted. AI-refined.

This contemporary artwork features a striking visual composition. The predominant colors are black and grey, with a central circular structure surrounded by smaller circular elements. The overall design resembles a stylized tree or network, suggesting themes of interconnectivity and social structures. Artist
Navine G. Khan-Dossos
B.1982, British

Through geometric and abstract paintings, Navine G. Khan-Dossos navigates notions of digital Orientalism, Aniconism within Islamic art, image calibration and algorithms. Khan-Dossos employs traditional Islamic art techniques and classical training in painting to unpack and reinterpret mass-media aesthetics and debates. Yet her investigation transcends aestheticism and penetrates the cultural and socio-political ramifications of mark-making in contemporary globalised society. The artist is interested in the communication and transferral of information and society’s interaction. Khan-Dossos has created site-specific works in direct dialogue with their context and space and with the public who populate them, sometimes creating work in public, in direct and prolonged conversation with visitors. ...
