Description
Human-crafted. AI-refined.

This abstract artwork features a striking composition of geometric shapes and textures. The predominant colors are various shades of yellow, creating a visually dynamic and energetic arrangement. The piece employs a grid-like pattern, with intersecting lines and planes forming a cohesive and structured design. The inclusion of a circular element and the contrast between the smooth and textured surfaces add visual interest and depth to the work. This minimalist piece likely explores themes of order, rhythm, and the interplay of light and form, reflecting the artist's unique artistic style and formal experimentation. ...

Santiago Reyes Villaveces´ practice follows a material investigation of structures, assemblages, and dynamics that evidence states of transitivity and precariousness. The works comprise installations, sculptures, drawings, and photographs that address different relations of temporal indetermination. They transform, determine, modify, and interfere with the spaces in which they operate; affecting the way in which the spectator occupies and perceives physical space. The different materials that Reyes uses are characterised by notions of tension, scale, volume, weight, gravity, surface, pressure, contention, resistance, depth and limit. Such notions configure systems that produce new relationships between spaces, architectures and the bodies of the spectators. His works explore a latent architectural sensibility that is evident in precarious structures; mostly visible in—but not limited to—everyday urban life in Latin American cities. The architectural mediations I address relate to urban detritus overlooked by-products of construction, and improvised temporary structures, underscoring a latent sophistication in anonymous ways of doing. ...

Instituto de Visión
Bogotá, New York City

Instituto de Vision is a Bogotá and New York based gallery for conceptual practices. Their mission is to investigate conceptual discourses that have been neglected by the official Latin American art canon. They have recovered important estates from the Latin American art of the mid century and continue to research the most enigmatic oeuvres of the region. Through a parallel program, they represent some of the most relevant contemporary practices from Colombia, Chile, North America, Venezuela, and others. Directed by three women, Instituto de Vision gives special attention to female voices, queer theories, environmental activism, the conflicts of migration, and other critical positions that challenge the established order. Using the international art scene as a platform, they are committed to give visibility and expand the work of artists that reveal critical realities and raise important questions for these contemporary subjects. ...
