Description
Human-crafted. AI-refined.

The artwork depicts a vibrant, surreal landscape with a central figure in a red bikini lounging on the lush, green grass. The composition features a row of houses in the background, with a cloudy sky overhead. The bold colors, stylized elements, and exaggerated proportions suggest a playful, satirical interpretation of suburban life. The piece seems to employ a unique blend of realism and imaginative, pop art-inspired techniques, inviting the viewer to consider the artist's intended commentary on societal norms and ideals. ...

Stacy Leigh
B.1971

Despite her early attraction to the arts, Stacy Leigh previously pursued a career as a stockbroker on Wall Street, which she soon found to be a source of misery. It was only when her husband encouraged her to leave that she pursued painting, and artist Richard Prince's discovery of her figurative work on Instagram provided further impetus. Leigh's self-taught approach is fundamental to her distinct style, with many of her paintings deriving primarily from memory rather than reference materials. As a result, some of her works exhibit a slightly skewed or off-kilter quality, that evoke a striking, uncanny sensation for viewers. This is seen in the distorted perspectives and the plastic-like textures in her depiction of foliage. The vivid colors and bold brushstrokes in Leigh's works imply a lurking tension, suggesting that the tranquility of the depicted scenes could be disrupted at any moment by the appearance of an unexpected visitor. Although Leigh is aware of the underlying narrative behind her paintings, she acknowledges that it may not be immediately apparent to the audience, who instead interpret the artwork through their own internal language. ...
