Description
Human-crafted. AI-refined.

This abstract artwork features a striking composition of geometric shapes and splatter-like patterns. The image is dominated by a central block-like structure rendered in shades of gray and pink, set against a chaotic background of black and white splatters. The overall impression is one of visual tension and dynamic energy, created through the juxtaposition of precise, architectural forms and the organic, expressive brushwork. The piece appears to explore themes of structure and chaos, urban environments, and the interplay between the built and natural worlds. The artist's distinctive style and technique suggest a contemporary, avant-garde approach to painting and drawing. ...

Artist
Asal Peirovi
1985 , Iranian

Asal Peirovi’s delicate acrylic and ecoline paintings on linen depict collage-like geometric shapes mixed with landscapes and natural and man-made phenomena. Her works show recurring soft colours of pale blue and pink amidst a variety of painting styles and techniques. Periovi’s practice is contextualised by her personal experiences, depicting fragments of her journeys, travels and memories. In her Passing through Alborz Range in 3’ 20 exhibition (Chapter NY, 2021), the artist was referencing the journey she would take to go to her hometown in Northern Iran while studying in Tehran. The visual and emotive experience of repeated travel between two cities is vividly translated into her painting’s eloquent geometry of landscape. The architectural details of platforms and buildings blend with patterns of paint, creating a seemingly flat perspective, reminiscent of classical Persian painting. Delicate and geometrically satisfying, Peirovi’s pieces are intriguing glimpses of that which is at once familiar and unpredictable. ...

Chapter NY
New York City

Founded in 2013 by Nicole Russo, Chapter NY is committed to supporting artists at various phases in their careers, by providing first solo shows and offering a platform for specific investigations within more established practices. By focusing on solo-presentations and working closely with each artist, Chapter NY helps realize tightly envisioned exhibitions that foster artistic exploration and growth. Russo brings over two decades of gallery experience to actualizing Chapter NY's program, drawing on her longstanding relationships to encourage ambitious presentations. The gallery started as a weekend project space before growing into a full-time operation, first representing artists including Mira Dancy, Willa Nasatir and Adam Gordon. In addition to an expanding gallery roster, Chapter NY has also provided a flexible platform for non-represented artists working across a range of media and experience, such as Keltie Ferris, Jesse Stecklow and Anicka Yi. In doing so, Chapter NY maintains its original mission to present experimental projects beyond the scope of traditional exhibitions. The program includes artists working in site-specific installation, sculpture, ceramics, video, drawing, painting, and photography. Represented artists have recently exhibited at the Whitney Museum of American Art; the Institute of Contemporary Art, Miami; the Los Angeles County Museum of Art; the Museum of Modern Art, New York, the New Museum, New York; Tate Britain; the Venice Biennale; and Atlanta Contemporary, Atlanta; among others. ...
