Description
Human-crafted. AI-refined.

The artwork depicts a whimsical, abstract glove composed of vibrant shapes and patterns. The glove features an array of colorful squiggles, eyes, and geometric elements against a white background, creating a surreal and playful composition. The piece employs a bold, expressive style that suggests a playful exploration of the human form and the relationship between function and visual art. The unconventional materials and unusual design choices likely reflect the artist's intention to challenge traditional notions of wearable art and invite the viewer to engage with the work in a new and imaginative way. ...

Peruvian

She is particularly interested in problematizing the structures of power that in a post-colonial context continue to organize the world in hierarchical binaries, veiling the fluid relations between colonizers and colonized that compose what we understand as “modern.” Her work has focused on understanding how modernity—understood broadly as an aesthetic, a moment in history, and an aspiration that becomes embodied in landscapes and human bodies— not only coexists with, but enables violence against vulnerable populations, including women and non-gender normative people. Her investigation raises questions regarding the ways in which these representations influence our desires and interactions based on repeated behaviors over time, shaping conventions that eventually become a sort of canon. ...
