Description
Human-crafted. AI-refined.

This contemporary artwork features a metallic hand sculpture that appears to be crafted from silver or a similar reflective material. The hand is depicted in an outstretched position, with its fingers slightly curled inward, creating a striking and visually compelling composition. The artist has utilized various techniques to achieve the illusion of a fluid, almost liquid-like form, emphasizing the sculptural elements and the interplay of light and shadow. The piece likely explores themes of the human form, technology, and the relationship between the organic and the manufactured. Without identifying any individuals, this captivating sculpture invites the viewer to contemplate the duality of the hand as both a functional and symbolic representation of the human experience. ...

Fátima Rodrigo
Peruvian

Fátima Rodrigo’s work has evolved towards mixed media and interactive installations exploring the representation of Latin American modernism and gender identity through different devices such as architecture, modern art and pop culture. She is particularly interested in problematizing the structures of power that in a post-colonial context continue to organize the world in hierarchical binaries, veiling the fluid relations between colonizers and colonized that compose what we understand as “modern.” Her work has focused on understanding how modernity—understood broadly as an aesthetic, a moment in history, and an aspiration that becomes embodied in landscapes and human bodies— not only coexists with, but enables violence against vulnerable populations, including women and non-gender normative people. Her investigation raises questions regarding the ways in which these representations influence our desires and interactions based on repeated behaviors over time, shaping conventions that eventually become a sort of canon. ...
