Description
Human-crafted. AI-refined.

This abstract artwork features a bold, geometric composition dominated by shades of green and black. The canvas is covered in a textured, mosaic-like pattern of angular shapes and lines, creating a dynamic and visually striking piece. The subject matter appears to depict an architectural or industrial landscape, with recognizable forms like a ladder and cuboidal structures. The artistic style reflects a modernist sensibility, with the artist employing distinctive techniques such as layering, segmentation, and the juxtaposition of contrasting colors and shapes to evoke a sense of urban industrialism or technological progress. The work likely speaks to the artist's intention to explore themes of modern urban life and the built environment. ...

Artist
Fátima Rodrigo
Peruvian

Fátima Rodrigo’s work has evolved towards mixed media and interactive installations exploring the representation of Latin American modernism and gender identity through different devices such as architecture, modern art and pop culture. She is particularly interested in problematizing the structures of power that in a post-colonial context continue to organize the world in hierarchical binaries, veiling the fluid relations between colonizers and colonized that compose what we understand as “modern.” Her work has focused on understanding how modernity—understood broadly as an aesthetic, a moment in history, and an aspiration that becomes embodied in landscapes and human bodies— not only coexists with, but enables violence against vulnerable populations, including women and non-gender normative people. Her investigation raises questions regarding the ways in which these representations influence our desires and interactions based on repeated behaviors over time, shaping conventions that eventually become a sort of canon. ...
