Joani Tremblay
B.1981, French/Canadian

Joani Tremblay's artistic practice explores the dynamic relationships between the abstract and the representational, the virtual and the physical, and the utopian and the real. By referencing the digital representation of landscapes in contemporary society, Tremblay subverts and flattens perspectives, using fragments of built environments such as thresholds and architecture as framing devices to crop, obscure, and layer the landscape. The repetition and translation of forms in her work reflects the fast-paced consumption of digital content that characterizes our current era. ...
