Kang Seung Lee
B.1978, American/South Korean

Through the artist’s meticulous process of research, hidden narratives and personal accounts, divergent with hegemonic and linear histories, begin to emerge. Expressing his findings with graphite pencil, paintings on transformed canvases, garments, ceramics, film footage and Polaroid images, Kang Seung Lee sees these alternative, counter-narratives as dictating strategies and tactics for the liberation of marginalised peoples.
