Description
Human-crafted. AI-refined.

This contemporary art installation features a large, curving wooden structure that dominates the space. The sweeping, golden-hued forms create a sense of movement and flow, contrasting with the stark, industrial concrete walls and ceiling. The artwork's minimalist aesthetic and innovative use of materials suggest an exploration of themes related to tension, balance, and the interplay between the natural and the constructed. The artist's intention seems to be evoking a sense of wonder and contemplation within the viewer, challenging conventional notions of architectural and sculptural forms. ...

Virginia Overton creates works that directly respond to the space they occupy through sculpture, installation, and photography. Continuously reusing and recycling materials used in her previous works, such as wood, brass, steel, glass or cedar from the artist’s family farm in Tennessee, Overton’s process is performative and reactive. She closely works with the settings of her works, be that architectural elements of a space or a natural landscape. Overton’s practice is in a refreshing and elegant dialogue with the traditionally monumental movement of land art. Combining industrial with natural elements, reinventing sculptures into paintings, and revealing inherent imperfections, Overton works with forms, textures and shapes, developing her unique sculptural language. ...
