Description
Human-crafted. AI-refined.

This abstract sculpture features bold, angular forms in dark metal, contrasting with the natural wood base. The composition creates a dynamic, geometric interplay of sharp, asymmetrical shapes that seem to emerge from the platform. The artist's use of minimal materials and simple geometric forms reflects the influence of modernist and constructivist aesthetics, emphasizing the inherent beauty of industrial materials and architectural design principles. This piece likely explores themes of balance, tension, and the relationship between organic and industrial elements in a thoughtful, visually striking manner. ...

Artist
Virginia Overton
B.1971, American

Virginia Overton creates works that directly respond to the space they occupy through sculpture, installation, and photography. Continuously reusing and recycling materials used in her previous works, such as wood, brass, steel, glass or cedar from the artist’s family farm in Tennessee, Overton’s process is performative and reactive. She closely works with the settings of her works, be that architectural elements of a space or a natural landscape. Overton’s practice is in a refreshing and elegant dialogue with the traditionally monumental movement of land art. Combining industrial with natural elements, reinventing sculptures into paintings, and revealing inherent imperfections, Overton works with forms, textures and shapes, developing her unique sculptural language. ...
