Description
Human-crafted. AI-refined.

The visual elements of this artwork emphasize the stark contrast between light and shadow, with the figure's silhouette casting a dramatic shadow across the stark, minimalist staircase. The geometric shapes and clean lines of the architecture create a sense of order and simplicity, while the human presence adds a touch of mystery and intrigue. The artist's use of high-contrast black and white tones, coupled with the figure's precarious positioning, suggests a sense of tension and uncertainty. Overall, the piece evokes a palpable sense of atmosphere, inviting the viewer to ponder the relationship between the individual and the built environment. ...

Through his works in film, video and installation, Diego Marcon investigates and challenges the ontology of the moving image. By combining contemporary theoretical studies of moving images, CGI and special effects with traditional, popular film genres of horror, slapstick comedy, cartoons and stop motion, Marcon creates uncanny collages of cinema and artistic film. The results depict distorted realities and archetypes of human nature that is both pure and wicked, ambiguous and straightforward. At times, his films leak into the exhibition spaces in which they are screened, incorporating an exhibition design that reflects and accentuates the works’ essence. By creating video works at the intersection of a somewhat forceful distinction between art and cinema, Marcon questions that dichotomy and, on a bigger scale, the essence of screen-based production of knowledge. ...
